How to Make Bootable USB Windows 10 (Complete Tutorial)

Let, me tell you the complete process of making a bootable Windows 10 bootable using the Rufus program. The complete procedure is explained below and each and every step has a screenshot for better understanding of the process. Let’s start:

1. Check Partition Style of Your Windows

Before, creating new Bootable USB drive with Rufus, you must first check the partition style of your system. This has to be done, so that the Windows 10 boot is created according to its partition style. if you have MBR partition style, you will make MBR boot with Rufus and if you have GPT partition style you will create GPT boot with Rufus.

Therefore, to check the partition style of your PC you will have to follow the steps available below.

First of all, search ‘Disk Management’ in Windows 10 Search bar and open the first setting that shows up.

Next, right click on Disk 0 and select properties.

Go to the volume tab and there you can check the partition style of your Windows 10.

2. Download Rufus for Windows

3. Initiate Rufus for Windows 10 Bootable USB Drive

Run the Rufus program, and it will automatically select the USB Flash Drive that is connected to your system. If you have multiple USB drives attached to your system you can change them in the device option. Next step is boot selection, click on ‘Select’.

Next, change the partition scheme of your system as we have already checked that we have MBR partition therefore, you will have to select MBR partition style. Also, rename the volume label to ‘MS Guides’.

Next, you will have to customise Windows user experience setting. Here, check list the first option to create a local account with your own user name. Then press ‘OK‘.

Warning: USB date will be destroyed

The Rufus will give you warning, that all the data on your USB drive will be destroyed. Press ‘OK‘ and your USB will be formatted.
